Padma Leela is a curated collection of handcrafted pure copper enamel wall plates, each piece a radiant fusion of heritage artistry and contemporary elegance. Inspired by the timeless visual poetry of Nathdwara Pichhwai paintings, these plates celebrate the opulent detailing and the serenity that define the tradition.

Pichhwai, originating over 400 years ago in the temple town of Nathdwara, Rajasthan, is a sacred painting tradition created to honor Shrinathji, a manifestation of Lord Krishna. Known for its meticulous linework, intricate motifs, lotus-filled lakes, divine cattle, seasonal themes, and luminous ornamentation, Pichwai is revered as one of India’s most exquisite forms of devotional art. Its motifs carry layers of cultural meaning—each element a visual hymn of devotion and abundance.

The luminous enamel glazes, layered over hand-shaped copper, create a jewel-like finish that elevates each plate with a spiritual significance.

Every design unfolds like a miniature shrine, this one is the Kamal Talai, blossoming with lotus-laden grace.

Designed and created by master craftsman Vikrant Patil, this distinctive line of wall plates reflects his evolving design journey that blend traditional skills with contemporary appeal. Over the years, Vikrant has been mentored and supported by EkiBeki through design exposure and encouragement.

About the Craft

Pichhwai are intricate paintings which portray various aspects of Lord Krishna's life. This art has become an undivided part of the Nathdwara culture.

Copper Enamelling is a near extinct craft of fusing glass colours onto copper surfaces. This craft is practiced in a small village in Alibag, Maharashtra, there are currently two families retaining the lore and 15 artisans who ply the craft.

The glass enameling lends a vibrant color to the copper surface, and prevents oxidising.
